Hal has a post dealing with the AG telling state AGs to enforce laws as they see fit in which several commenters pointed out that this was a terrible idea. Well, the reason it is terrible is simply that it leads to stuff like this:
The Obama administration is set to announce another major delay in implementing the Affordable Care Act, easing election pressure on Democrats.
As early as this week, according to two sources, the White House will announce a new directive allowing insurers to continue offering health plans that do not meet ObamaCare’s minimum coverage requirements.
Prolonging the “keep your plan” fix will avoid another wave of health policy cancellations otherwise expected this fall.
The cancellations would have created a firestorm for Democratic candidates in the last, crucial weeks before Election Day.The White House is intent on protecting its allies in the Senate, where Democrats face a battle to keep control of the chamber.
“I don’t see how they could have a bunch of these announcements going out in September,” one consultant in the health insurance industry said. “Not when they’re trying to defend the Senate and keep their losses at a minimum in the House. This is not something to have out there right before the election.”
Have no doubt that when Holder tells the AGs to use their discretion, what he means is for them to let their political views taint their decisions. He is lying when he says otherwise, and the way he has run the DOJ and this WH has been doing things should leave zero doubt in anyone’s mind that is what is going on.
The left plays for keeps. They cheat, steal, and will kill to win, and they do not care whom they have to steamroll to stay in power. These narcissistic scumbags may pretend to be doing things for the people, but only a fool would believe their charade. It’s about their power: keeping and growing it.
At this point it will only be the most deluded and stupid of people that think Obamacare has any redeeming qualities to it. It is a giant “fuck you” to everyone, including the people it portends to be helping the most. The left knows it is a disaster and will do far more damage than any incidental good that will come from it, and the way they have manipulated the rules to avoid paying at the polls should make that abundantly clear.
We live in a banana republic where the powerful are screwing us all over while pretending to do things to help the least well off amongst us. The reality on the ground, that the rich are getting richer, the poor, poorer, and the number of people voting for a living rather than working for one, are getting bigger, gets downplayed, or outright ignored, by a lying DNC propaganda machine pretending to be an independent media. That’s the change Obama promised us. Those of you that didn’t see that coming are even bigger fools than you think you are now that you can no longer pretend otherwise. The left cares only about power, and the idiots that don’t see that are screwing us all over.
